Smoky Baked Beans

Ingredients
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, chopped finely
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp tomato purée
dash liquid smoke
100ml passata
1 tin (440g) of any meaty beans (pinto, borlotti, cannellini etc)
Method
- Gently sautée the onion until softened and lightly golden
- Add garlic and fry for 30 seconds
- Add all other ingredients except passata and beans, cook gently for 5 minutes
- Add passata and beans, simmer gently for 10 minutes or until thick.
